Family time

Having some good old family time in Italy is the best thing I could do with my family!  We spent some time in Reggio Emilia (Chris had a game) the day before easter and then Easter morning we hopped in the car and headed to the coast to Genoa (Genova).  We didn't gave much planned so we grabbed lunch and wandered around the port.  It was a gorgeous day out and there were kids everywhere.

Porta Soprana were the gates of the medival city and they are still standing.  They were built to protect the city, Genoa, from intruders!

Genoa is the birthplace of Christopher Columbus.  Now, I am not sure how happy I was to actually see his birthplace, but I am happy that I got to see a piece of history.

The town is truly charming and has a lot of old world touch.  The city is filled with narrow streets and large squares (plazas).  Genoa is also the home of a huge aquarium.  We were unable to go because Bruno came along for our adventure.  So, Genoa, we will be back to visit!  SOON!
